Ratul invested 20% more than Rakesh and Rakesh invested 50% more than Rudra. If the total amount of their investment is Rs. 3,225, how much amount did Ratul invest?  Correct Answer Rs. 1,350

Given:

Ratul invested 20% more than Rakesh

Rakesh invested 50% more than Rudra

Total investment amount = Rs. 3225

Concept:

If A and B invested their Capital as Rs. X and Rs. Y and profit will be at the end of the year is Rs. P,

∴ Share of the A = (X × P) / (X + Y)

∴ Share of the B = (Y × P) / (X + Y)

Calculation:

Let, Rudra invested Rs. 100x

Amount invested by Rakesh = 150x

Amount invested by Ratul = 150x + (150x × 20%) = 150x + 30x = 180x

Ratio of their investment = 100x ∶ 150x ∶ 180x = 10 ∶ 15 ∶ 18

Investment amount of Ratul = Rs. 3,225 × (18/43) = Rs. 1,350

∴ Investment of Ratul is Rs. 1,350
