Boys : Girls = 1 : 2

This means 20 boys and 40 girls are there in the class.

The rank of Kamal from the top is 17th. 

which means 16 students are ahead of Kamal and nine are girls. So seven are boys.

Total boys = 20

ahead of Kamal = 7

Behind Kamal = 20 - 7 - 1(kamal) = 12 boys. (Kamal is a boy so he will also be counted
