In a class of 60 students, where the number of girls is twice than that of the boys, Kamal ranked 16th from the top. If 9 girls are ahead of Kamal, then how many boys are behind him? (If Kamal is a boy) Correct Answer 13

Let the number of girls is X and the number of boys is Y.

Given that -

In a class number of students = 60, which means:-

X + Y = 60 .......... (I)

The number of girls is twice than that of the boys, which means:-

X = 2Y, putting the value of X in equation (I):-

2Y + Y = 60

3Y = 60

Y = 20 and X = 40

The number of girls 40 and boys 20.

Kamal ranked 16th from the top if 9 girls are ahead of Kamal that means only 7 boys ahead of Kamal, then 20 - 7 = 13 boys are behind him.

Hence, "option 1" is the correct answer.
