A, B and C were three body builder having the same working rate, they were work out together in a gym for 60 days. In the course of work, all of them remained absent for few days. A was absent for 20 days more than B and C did one third of the total work out. How many days more than C was A absent?
A, B and C were three body builder having the same working rate, they were work out together in a gym for 60 days. In the course of work, all of them remained absent for few days. A was absent for 20 days more than B and C did one third of the total work out. How many days more than C was A absent? Correct Answer 10 days
Given∶
Total No. of days to work out = 60
A was absent for 20 days more than B.
C did 1/3 of total work out.
Formula Used∶
Concept of Linear Equations.
Calculation∶
Let 'k' be the part of the work out that body builders can do in 1 day. And,
x - 20, x and y be the number of days for which they remained absent. Then,
According to Question,
( x - 20) k + (x) k = 2/3 or
⇒ k = 2/3 (1)
and (y) k = 1/3
or k = 1/3 y
Put k = 1/3 y in eq. (1)
× 1/3 y = 2/3
⇒ 2x - 20 = 2y
⇒ x - 10 = y
The required no. of days = y - (x - 20) = x - 10 - (x - 20) = x - 10 - x + 20 = 10
Thus, A was absent 10 more days than C.
