If 20 sheep can fill 1/9th of a drum with wool in 2 days, how many days 16 sheep will take to give wool to fill the remaining drum? Correct Answer 20 days

Given:

If 20 sheep can fill 1/9th of a drum with wool in = 2 days

Calculation:

Total work = Number of people working × time taken to complete the work

Let the total work be x.

According to question:

20 × 2 = (1/9) × x

⇒ x = 360

∴ the total work is 360 units.

20 sheep give wool in 2 days = 20 × 2

⇒ 40 units

∴ Remaining work = 360 - 40

⇒ 320 units

∴ the time is taken to complete the remaining work = 320/16

⇒ 20 days

∴ In 20 days, 16 sheep will give wool to fill the remaining drum.
