Amount to be deducted for missing target = 50 paise = Rs.0.5

Total attempted shots = 25

Calculation:

Let correct shots and missed shots for Kumar be a and b.

⇒ a + b = 25

⇒ 1 × a - 0.5 × b = 10

⇒ a - 0.5b = 10

Solving,

⇒ b = 10

⇒ a = 15

∴ Kumar hits 15 correct targets.
