Amount spent on electricity = Rs. 2250

Calculation:

Let the expenses of family be in units

According to the question

75 units = Rs. 2250

⇒ 1 unit = Rs. 30

Now, Difference in expenses of family on rent and food = 240 - 180

⇒ 60 units

Difference in amount on rent and food = 60 × 30 

⇒ Rs. 1800

∴ Difference between amount spent on rent and food is Rs. 1800.
