The bar graph given below shows the production and sale of mobile phones by five difference companies P, Q, R, S and T (in thousands). Number of unsold mobile phones = (production – sale) J1 = Average of unsold mobile of all the companies. J2 = Difference between total unsold mobile phones of companies P and Q together and the total unsold mobile phones of S and T. What is the value of J1 + J2?

Formula used:

Average of n numbers = sum of all the numbers/n

Calculation:

Unsold mobiles of all companies = (90 - 70) + (85 - 70) + (70 - 60) + (50 - 30) + (65 - 55) = 75

J1 = Average of unsold mobile of all companies = 75/5 = 15

Unsold mobiles of P and Q = (90 - 70) + (85 - 70) = 35

Unsold mobiles of S and T = (50 - 30) + (65 - 55) = 30

J2 = 35 - 30 = 5

∴ J1 + J2 = 15 + 5 = 20.
