According to given conditions:
A = (x)(y + 1) ---(1)
A = (x + 10) (y) ---(2)
A = (x – 10) (y + 1) ---(3)
From (1) and (2)-
(x)(y + 1) = (x + 10) (y)
⇒ x – 10y = 0 ---(4)
From (2) and (3)-
⇒ (x - 10) (y + 1) = (x + 10) (y)
⇒ x – 20Y = 10 ---(5)
On solving equations (4) and (5)-
⇒ x = 10km/hr
⇒ y = 1hr
⇒ A = x (y + 1) = 10 (1 + 1) = 20 km.
By Option D:
Distance covered = (10 + 4) (1 + 2) = 42 km.
∴ All of them can be found.
