A long stick of certain length is cut into several equal pieces. When the stick is cut into an equal piece of 24 cm each or 15 cm each or 27 each, then every time a piece of the stick of 3 cm length remains left. This stick can be cut into ‘x’ equal pieces of 33 cm length, then what is the least value of ‘x’?

Calculation:
LCM of 24, 15 and 27 = 1080
The possible length of sticks would be 3 cm more than the multiple of 1080.
⇒ Possible length of stick = 1083, 2163, 3243, 4323 and so on ….
∵ The stick can be divided into equal pieces of length 33 cm.
⇒ The smallest multiple of 33 in the possible length of the stick is 4323.
So, the smallest length of stick = 4323 cm
∴ Number of pieces = 4323/33 = 131
