As per IS 3306-1974, Industrial waste water can discharged into sewer line, only if it satisfies teh following tolerance limits.

Based on above table, , Industrial waste water can discharged into sewers if BOD is less than 500 mg/l and pH ranges from 5.5 to 9. In general, higher alkalinity means pH > 10 and higher BOD means that industrial waste is highly polluted and we cannot discharge of mix with sewer lines.
