Given:
Length of a train = 225 m
Speed of a train = 82 km/h
Speed of bicycle = 8 km/h
Concept:
Use the concept of time, distance and relative speed.
Formula used:
Relative speed = S1 + S2
Time = Length of the train/Relative speed
Calculation:
Relative speed = (82 + 8) km/h
⇒ Relative speed = 90 km/h
⇒ Relative speed = 90 × 5/18 = 25 m/s
Now, time taken to cross the man on bicycle = Length of train/Relative speed
⇒ Time taken = 225/25 = 9s
∴ time taken by train to cross the man is 9s
