Income of a man is 30% more than his expenditure. When the income is increased by 10% and expenditure is decreased by 10%, then what is the change percentage in the savings of the man?  Correct Answer 76.67%

Let the expenditure of the man be Rs. 100

Then, the income of the man = (130/100) × 100 = 130

∴ Savings of the man

Income – Expenditure = Saving

⇒ 130 – 100 = 30

Now, income of the man is increased by 10% and expenditure is decreased by 10%

∴ New Income = 130 × (110/100) = 143

New Expenditure = 100 × (90/100) = 90

∴ New savings = New Income – New Expenditure

⇒ New savings = 143 – 90 = 53

∴ Percentage change = {(53 – 30)/30} × 100 = 76.67%
