The diameters of the bigger wheel and smallest wheel of a tractor are 50 cm and 35 cm respectively. How many revolutions will the smaller wheel make when the bigger one makes 21 revolutions?
The diameters of the bigger wheel and smallest wheel of a tractor are 50 cm and 35 cm respectively. How many revolutions will the smaller wheel make when the bigger one makes 21 revolutions? Correct Answer 30
Given:
The diameter of bigger wheel = 50 cm
The diameter os smaller wheel = 35 cm
Bigger wheel makes = 21 revolutions
Calculation:
Let the smaller wheel makes revolutions be n
Distance covered by bigger wheel and smaller wheel be 50π and 35π respectively
Then,
According to the question,
⇒ 21 × 50π = n × 35π
⇒ n = (21 × 50π)/35π
⇒ n = 30 revolutions
∴ The smaller wheel makes 30 revolutions.
