The following question, there are three statements I, II and III. Read the question carefully and mark your answer according to which statements(s) is/are sufficient to the answer the question. How much share did Naman get as profit at the end of the year in business Started with partners Kamal and Nishant? Statement I: Nishant invested Rs. 9000 for 7 months, his profit was (3/2) times of profit of Naman’s and Kamal’s investment was 3 times that of Nishant. Statement II: he investment of Kamal and Naman for the whole year is in ratio 3 : 2 Statement III: The profit at the end of the year was Rs. 20,000 Correct Answer All I, II and III are necessary
From statement I and II, we get the investments
⇒ Nishant’s investments = 9000 × 7 = Rs. 63000
⇒ Naman’s investments = 3 × 9000 × 12 = Rs. 324000
Since the investment for Naman and kamal is in ratio 3 ∶ 2
Let 2 units = 324000
Then, 1 unit = 324000/2 = 162000
Hence kamal’s investment = 3 × 162000 = 486000
Nishant : Naman : Kamal = 63000 : 324000 : 486000 = 63 : 324 : 486 = 7 : 36 : 54
From statement III:
Total profit = Rs. 20000
∴ Share of Naman = 20000 × (36/97) = Rs. 7422.68
