A radar approaches an observer A whose speed Va = 17 m/s with frequency fa = 730 HZ at a distance of d = 141 m with a frequency shift 10 HZ. Find the frequency if the observer is at a speed vam = 340 m/s with a Doppler shift of 10 HZ with Laser light.
Correct Answer 710 HZ
F0 = fa ((V + V0)/(V + Va)) = 730((340 m/s)/(340 + 14.1)) = 710 HZ
The Doppler Effect doesn’t change with respect to change in source of light. So that light source change need not be considered. At the same time the Doppler shift is negligible as the light source is moving.
