Suppose the number of wickets taken by the player till date = x
In bowling, when the average is improved that means average must have decreased:
⇒ (22.5 - 0.5) = (22.5x + 52) / (x + 4)
⇒ 22x + 88 = 22.5x + 52
⇒ 0.5x = 36
⇒ x = 72
∴ Number of wickets taken by him till date = 72 + 4 = 76
