The given histogram shows the height of the students. The number of students whose height is in the class interval 165-170 is what percentage less than the number of students whose height is in the interval 150-155 ? (correct to one decimal place) Correct Answer 6.7%

Given:

Height (in cm)

Number of students

150-155

15

155-160

13

160-165

10

165-170

14

170-175

12

175-180

6

Calculation:

Number of students in the class interval 165-170 = 14

Number of students in the class interval 150-155 = 15

Difference = 15 – 14 = 1

Required percentage = (1/15) × 100

⇒ Required percentage ≈ 6.7%

∴  The number of students in the class interval 165-170 is 100/15 = 6.7% less than the number of students in class interval of 150-155
