Find the number of people travelling by car? Correct Answer 182

Calculation:

Let us assume the total population of village palampur be 100x

Now the number of people travelling by car, bus and train will be 26x, 32x and 42x respectively.

Now 12.5%  (12.5/100 = 1/8) people who travel bus starts using train

1/8  of 32x = 4x

So number of people who use train are 42x + 4x = 46x

It is given 46x = 322 so, x = 7

Since we know x = 7 therefore number of people travelling via car will be 26x = 26 × 7 = 182
