An order was placed for the supply of carpet whose breadth was 5cm and length was 1.22 times the breadth. What would be the cost of a carpet whose length and breadth are 30% more and 15% more respectively than the corresponding length and breadth of the first carpet, given that the rate of carpet is 35 rupees per square meter?
An order was placed for the supply of carpet whose breadth was 5cm and length was 1.22 times the breadth. What would be the cost of a carpet whose length and breadth are 30% more and 15% more respectively than the corresponding length and breadth of the first carpet, given that the rate of carpet is 35 rupees per square meter? Correct Answer 1596
Given:
The breadth of the first carpet is 5 cm
Calculation:
⇒ The length of the first carpet = 1.22 × 5 = 6.1 cm
⇒ The area of second carpet = 6.1 × (1 + 30/100) × (1 + 15/100) = 45.5975 cm2
⇒ The cost of second carpet = 35 × 45.5975 = 1595.9125 ≈ 1596 rupees
∴ The required result will be 1596 rupees.
