People attended the spinning classes = 40

People attended both classes = 30

People not attend either class = 42

Concept:

Suppose the people attended the circuits only = x

People attended spinning only = (40 – 30) = 10

According to question –

200 = 10 + 30 + x + 42

⇒82 + x = 200

⇒ x = 200 – 82

⇒ x = 118

∴ The people who attended the circuits = x + 30

⇒ 30 + 118

⇒ 148
