Study the following information and select guilty person. Ram was visiting a place where inhabitants always answer any question with two sentences. He was sure that only one person is guilty. When he questioned them they replied as follows. R ∶ S did not do it. I did not do it. S ∶ I did not do it. P did not do it. T ∶ I did not do it. I did not know who did it. Correct Answer S
On analysing the statements: (One is correct and other is wrong.)
R ∶ S did not do it. I did not do it.
S ∶ I did not do it. P did not do it.
If 'S did not do it' is correct then statement of S 'I did not do it' is also correct. This implies that statement of R 'I did not do it' is false and statement 'P did not do it.' is false. This further implies that P and R did it which is not possible. Thus, S is guilty and both the first statements of R and S are false.
T ∶ I did not do it. I did not know who did it.
Here, first statement is true and second is false.
Hence, S is guilty.
