A circular pond is surrounded by square park of diagonal 90√2 m and diameter of a pond is 20 m less than the side of square park. What is cost of fencing the circular pond if cost of fencing per meter is Rs. 20?

A circular pond is surrounded by square park of diagonal 90√2 m and diameter of a pond is 20 m less than the side of square park. What is cost of fencing the circular pond if cost of fencing per meter is Rs. 20? Correct Answer Rs. 4400

GIVEN :

Side of square = diagonal/ √2

Cost of fencing per meter is Rs. 20

FORMULA USED :

Circumference of circular pond = 2 π r

CALCULATION :

Side of square park = (90√2)/√2 = 90 m

Diameter of circular pond = 90 – 20 = 70 m

Radius of circular pond = 35 m

Circumference of circular pond = 2 π r = 2 × 22/7 × 35 = 220 m

Cost of fencing the circular pond = 220 × 20 = Rs. 4400
