The number of students in A1, A2 and B1 section of Mechanical Department in a school is 72, 96 and 144 respectively. Due to the large number of students in each class, the Principal want to increase the number of rooms. What is the minimum number of rooms required if the number of students sitting in each room is the same and each room should have only one section students? Correct Answer 13

Given:

The number of students in A1, A2 , and B1 sections of the

Mechanical Department in a school = 72, 96 and 144

respectively

Calculation:

According to the question, we have

Taking the HCF of 72, 96 and 144

⇒ HCF = 24

The number of rooms in section A1 = 72/24 = 3

The number of rooms in section B1 = 96/24 =  4

The number of rooms in section C1 = 144/24 =6

Now, the minimum number of rooms required

= 3 + 4 + 6 = 13

∴ The minimum number of rooms required to sit the

students in each room in the same section is 13.
