Management Algorithm of bleeding control (Steps)

  1. Apply direct pressure on the cut or wound with a sterile cloth, tissue, or piece of gauze until bleeding stops. The most suitable materials are Gamjee pads.
  2. If the material is soaked with blood don't remove it, apply some more gauze or pad over that
  3. If the wound is on the limbs, raise the limb above heart level to slow down the bleeding
  4. Apply pressure over some arteria pressure points
  5. If severe bleeding cannot be controlled by direct pressure, apply a tourniquet.
  6. Immediately shift the patient to a medical care facility.
