Number of employees in the company = 3840

The average salary of male employees = 15000

The average salary of female employees = 10000

The average salary of all employees = 13000

Concept used:

The average salary of all employees = Total salary distributed amongst all the employees / Number of employees

Calculations:

Let the number of male employees be ‘x’

Then, the number of female employees = 3840 – x

Total salary distributed = Number of employees × Average salary of all employees

⇒ 15000 × x + 10000 × (3840 – x) = 3840 × 13000

⇒ 15000x – 10000x = 3840 × 13000 – 3840 × 10000

⇒ 5000x = 3840 × 3000

⇒ x = 3840 × (3/5)

⇒ x = 2304

∴ The number of male employees in the company is 2304

Using this ratio male employee can be determined

Male employees = 3840 × 3/5
