Pedestal cast shadow = 16 m

Case:2

Pedestal cast shadow = 12 m

Calculation:

Height of shadow of Building Height of shadow of Pedestal
40                          ∶ 16
x                            ∶ 12


40 ∶ 16 ∶∶ x ∶ 12

⇒ 40 × 12 = 16 × x

⇒ x = 30 m

∴ Buiding cast a shadow of 30 m height
