A rectangular area of land is divided into 3 plots of dimensions 50 m × 20 m each, 4 plots of 40 m × 30 m each and 4 plots of 30 m × 25 m each. Which of the following is the possible dimensions of the rectangular land? Correct Answer 180 m × 60 m

Area of the rectangular land = area of all the plots

⇒ (3 × 50 m × 20 m) + (4 × 40 m × 30 m) + (4 × 30 m × 25 m)

⇒ 3000 + 4800 + 3000

⇒ 10800 m2

Area of the land with the given dimensions,

⇒ 140 m × 80 m = 11200 m2

⇒ 160 m × 70 m = 11200 m2

⇒ 180 m × 60 m = 10800 m2

⇒ 200 m × 50 m = 10000 m2

⇒ 220 m × 40 m = 8800 m2

∴ The possible dimensions of the rectangular land is 180 m × 60 m
