Bile makes the food coming from stomach alkaline.
Break down of fats into smaller globules.
- The liver secretes Bile. When bile leaves the liver, it gets stored in the gallbladder, before being released into the duodenum.
- When it gets released from the gallbladder, it breaks large fat globules into smaller particles. This is known as emulsification.
- As Bile is alkaline in nature, it neutralizes acidic food coming from the stomach to provide the alkaline conditions needed in the small intestine.
