Difference between father's and mother's age = 3 years

Average age of the couple at the time of Child's birth = 35 years

Initial age of father = 29 years

Calculation:

Mother's initial age = 29 – 3 = 26 years

Now, Father's age at the time of marriage = 29 + 3 = 32 years

Mother's age at the time of marriage = 26 + 3 = 29 years

Now, Let the child is born after x years

So, (32 + x + 29 + x)/2 = 35

⇒ 61 + 2x = 70 

⇒ 2x = 9 

⇒ x = 9/2 = 4.5 years

∴ The child is born after 4.5 years
