In context of Marxism philosophy, which of the following is correct? I. There cannot be a peaceful transformation from capitalism to socialism. ll. The working class will seize state power by revolution. Correct Answer Both I and II
By Marxist Philosophy we mean all the philosophies that are inspired by Marxist thought.
- Throughout history, various economic systems have caused resentment in people and one class has overthrown the other.
- The roots of one economic stage are laid in the former stage. For instance, Feudalism had the roots of Capitalism in it.
- On overthrowing Feudalism, we had Capitalism.
Important Points Marxist standpoint is clear regarding change of economic stage and class struggle for occupying the means of production.
- The means of production lies with the capitalists and has to be taken over by the proletariats in a revolution by class struggle alone.
- The question that remains that if the revolution will be bloodless or bloody-
- While the Marxists have always been in support of a non-violent revolution, it is inevitable for the Capitalists who own the means of production will not use capital to charge violence against the proletariat.
- In the face of violence, the proletariat has no option other than to retaliate with violent revolution. Parliamentary revolution alone will not pave the way to change of status quo.
Therefore, both the statements related to Marxist philosophy are correct.
