The ratio of monthly incomes of A and B is 7 : 10. The ratio of their expenditures is 2 : 3. If each of A and B saves ₹ 1,000 per month, then what will be the monthly income of B ? Correct Answer ₹ 10,000

Option(2) is correct.

Let the monthly salary of A and B be 7x and 10x respectively.

Let the expenditure of A and B be 2y and 3y respectively.

Savings = Income - Expenditure

7x - 2y = 1000

10x - 3y =1000

⇒ 7x - 2y = 10x - 3y

⇒ y = 3 x

For B :

10x - 3y =1000

⇒ 10x - 3(3x) = 1000

⇒ x = 1000.

Therefore, the monthly income of B i.e., 10x = 10(1000) = Rs. 10000.

Hence, the correct answer is Rs 10000.
