A man gave 30% of his property to his first son. Of the remaining property, he gave 30% to his second son. Then to his third son, he gave 30% of the remaining property. The left property was given to the fourth son. The fourth son received what percentage of the total property?

A man gave 30% of his property to his first son. Of the remaining property, he gave 30% to his second son. Then to his third son, he gave 30% of the remaining property. The left property was given to the fourth son. The fourth son received what percentage of the total property? Correct Answer 34.3%

First son’s share = 30%

Remaining property after giving to first son = 100 – 30 = 70%

Second son’s share = 30% of 70% = 21%

Remaining property after giving to two sons = 70 – 21 = 49%

Third son’s share = 30% of 49% = 14.7%

Remaining property after giving to three sons = 49 – 14.7 = 34.3%

Fourth son’s share = 34.3%

∴ Fourth son received 34.3% of the total property
