Two cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ are running towards each other from two different places 180 km apart. If the ratio of the speed of the cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ is 5 : 3 respectively and the speed of the car ‘Q’ is 45 km/h, at what time will the two cars meet each other?
Two cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ are running towards each other from two different places 180 km apart. If the ratio of the speed of the cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ is 5 : 3 respectively and the speed of the car ‘Q’ is 45 km/h, at what time will the two cars meet each other? Correct Answer 90 min
Two cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ are running towards each other from two different places 180 km apart.
The ratio of the speed of the cars ‘P’ and ‘Q’ is respectively 5 : 3 and the speed of the car ‘Q’ is 45 km/h.
So, the speed of ‘P’ car = 45 × (5/3) = 75 km/h.
As, the both cars are running towards each other, the relative speed will be
= (75 + 45) km/h = 120 km/hr.
∴ The two cars meet each other in = 180/120 = 1.5 hours = 90 minutes.
