Marked price of one bottle of cold drink is Rs. 140. A salesman gives one dozen bottles for free and 25% discount on order of 12 dozen bottles. What will be the minimum cost price of one bottle so that the company does not have any loss? Correct Answer Rs. 96.92

MP of one bottle = Rs. 140

After 25% discount = 140 × 75/100 = Rs. 105

∴ S.P. of 12 dozen bottles = 12 × 12 × 105 = Rs. 15120

According to question he gives one dozen free bottles on order of 12 dozen so he gives 13 dozen bottle.

In the no loss condition cost price should be equal to selling price.

∴ S.P. = C.P.

⇒ 12 × 12 × 105 = 12 × 13 × C.P. of one bottle

Cost price of one bottle = 15120/156 = Rs. 96.92
