P × 4 = Q × 6

⇒ P/Q = 3/2

⇒ P ∶ Q = 3 ∶ 2 

Q × 5 = R × 8

⇒ Q/R = 8/5

⇒ Q ∶ R = 8 ∶ 5

3 × 4 = 12 2 × 4 = 8  
  8 × 1 = 8 5 × 1 = 5

P : Q : R = 12 : 8 : 5

Let R do the work in x days which P can do in 70 days.

Then, P × 70 = R × x

⇒ 12 × 70 = 5 × x

⇒ x = 168 days

Now, Cost of R for 1 day = Rs. 1

Cost of R for 168 days = Rs. 168
