What is the ratio of the mean proportional between 24 and 150 and the third proportional between 12 and 6√5? Correct Answer 4 : 1
Mean proportion of 24 and 150 = √(24 × 150)
⇒ 60
And the third proportion of 12 and 6√5 is (6√5 × 6√5)/12
⇒ 15
⇒ The required ratio is 60 : 15
∴ The required ratio is 4 : 1
