The length of one of the diagonals of a rhombus is 48 cm. If the side of the rhombus is 26 cm, then what is the area of the rhombus? Correct Answer 480 cm2

Since, we know that d12 + d22 = 4a2, where d1 and d2 are the diagonals of rhombus and a is the side

⇒ 482 + d22 = 4 × 262

⇒ d22 = 2704 – 2304

⇒ d2 = 20

Now, the area of rhombus = ½ × d1 × d2

⇒ The area of rhombus = ½ × 48 × 20

∴ Area of rhombus is 480 cm2
