How to Make a Duct Tape Wallet
Crafting your own wallet with duct tape is a fun and simple way to switch out your plain billfold for a unique and brightly colored piece of art. All you need are a few basic supplies and a bit of creativity. With a few steps, you can have your own trendy wallet to carry around.
Steps
- Gather your materials. You will need 2 pieces of 8.5" by 11” cardstock paper, 2 pieces of duct tape, a ruler, a pair of scissors, and a pen or marker.
- Lay one of the pieces of cardstock flat. Place one piece of duct tape sticky side up on the cardstock, and lay the other piece of paper on top (sticky side down). Make sure that the edges of the papers and the duct tape are lined up.
- Cut off the edges of the dat tape with the scissors so that it is the same size as the cardstock.
- Turn your cardstock pieces over and repeat steps 2 and 3, placing the other piece of duct tape (sticky side up) on the back side of the cardstock and placing the other piece on top (sticky side down) and trimming off the excess duct tape.
- Using the ruler and pen or marker, draw and cut out the pockets you want in your wallet. Typical pockets include a place to hold bills, a place to store coins, and a few places to hold credit cards or IDs.
- Rub the surface of one side of the wallet with your hand to smooth out any bumps or bubbles.
- Fold the duct tape wallet in half lengthwise with the bill pocket facing the outside and the pockets facing the inside.
