Correct option is (A) ₹ 1400
Let the marked price is Rs x.
Discount = 20% of x \(=Rs\frac{20}{100}\times x=Rs\frac x5\)
\(\therefore\) The selling price of the shirt = MP - discount
\(=Rs(x-\frac x5)=Rs\frac{4x}5\)
But the selling price of the shirt = Rs 1120
\(\therefore\) \(\frac{4x}5\) = 1120
\(\Rightarrow\) \(x=\frac{5\times1120}4=5\times280\) = 1400
\(\therefore\) MP = Rs x = Rs 1400
