Correct option is (D) none

Let Ramu's present age be x years.

\(\therefore\) Ramu's age before 4 years = (x - 4) years

Ramu's age after 12 years = (x + 12) years

\(\therefore\) x+12 = 3(x-4)

\(\Rightarrow\) x+12 = 3x - 12

\(\Rightarrow\) 3x - x = 12+12 = 24

\(\Rightarrow\) 2x = 24

\(\Rightarrow\) \(x=\frac{24}2=12\)

Thus, Ramu's present age is 12 years.
