Given: h = 500 m, R = 6.4 × 106 m
To find: Maximum distance or range (d)
Formula: d = \(\sqrt{2Rh}\)
Calculation: From formula,
d = \(\sqrt{2Rh}\) = \(\sqrt{2\times64\times10^6\times500}\)
= 8 × 104
= 80 km
