Mitigation means reducing the severity, seriousness or painfulness of something' Climate change mitigation consists of actions to limit the magnitude or rate of long-term climate change. 

Goals of climate change mitigation ate: 

1.  To avoid significant human interference with the climate system.

2. To stabilize greenhouse gas levels in a timeframe sufficient to allow ecosystems to adapt naturally to climate change. 

3. To ensure that food production is not threatened and to enable economic development to proceed in a sustainable manner.
