Atomic number of any element is the number of proton present in that atom

Here, number of proton = 15 therefore atomic number is also 15.

Mass number or atomic mass is the sum of proton and neutron.

Therefore mass number = 15 + 16 = 31

Atomic number of the element is 15 as the number of protons in one atom of the element represents the atomic number of that element.

Mass number of element = number of protons + number of neutrons

= 15 + 16

= 31
