Departments in Operation Management:
1.) Production department:
- The production department is responsible for converting raw materials and other inputs into finished goods or services.
- In between the processes of production, the department works to improve the efficiency of the production or assembly line so that it can meet the output targets set by company management and ensure finished products offer consumers the best value and quality.
2.) Technical department:
- This department is responsible for the enhancement of the quality of finished goods by performing research and development on modern techniques of production.
- It is used to manage, implement and inspect technical work, and ensure work progress, safety, quality, and economic efficiency in the company.
3.) Manufacturing department:
- The manufacturing function is primarily responsible for implementing and operating the production system in order to produce the product.
- Manufacturing may also include purchase, distribution, and installation as well as the physical manufacture of the component.
4.) Quality control department:
- The Quality Control Department is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that each stage of production is followed by all the necessary procedures for the safe use of machinery and that each product coming out of the production process, complies with all standards and specifications that have been defined so to ensure a smooth and trouble-free operation.
