Option 3 : (iii) and (iv) are not correct

The Soviet Union Constitution originated the concept of Fundamental Duties.

  • Article 51A (Part IVA) of the Constitution deals with fundamental duties.
  • Its aim is to protect the country's objectives and contribute to its growth and improvement.
  • The Swaran Singh Committee's suggestions were included in Part IV-A of the Constitution by the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976.
  • The 86th Constitutional Amendment Act of 2002 added one extra obligation to the original ten.
  • The Fundamental Duties, like the Directive Principles of State Policy, are non-justiciable.
  • It is mandatory for citizens to fulfill their Fundamental duties but the state can make laws for the implementation of FDs.

Thus, The Fundamental Duties have to be fulfilled by every person living in India and the eleventh Fundamental Duty was added by the 86th Constitution Amendment Act, 2006.

Some of the Fundamental duties:
1.  Abide by the Indian Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem
2.   Cherish and follow the noble ideals that inspired the national struggle for freedom
3.   Uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India
4. Defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so
5. Promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities and renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women.
