CONCEPT:

Rectification: A rectifier is a device that converts alternating current (AC) into a direct current (DC). This process is called rectification.

A p-n junction can be used as a rectifier because it permits current in one direction only.

Amplification: The process of increasing the amplitude of the sound wave is called amplification.

In this process, we generally increase the volume of the sound.

So we can say that the process of increasing the sound volume is called amplification.
