Option 1 : Rectification

CONCEPT:

Rectification: A rectifier is a device that converts alternating current (AC) into a direct current (DC). This process is called rectification.

  • A p-n junction can be used as a rectifier because it permits current in one direction only.

Amplification: The process of increasing the amplitude of the sound wave is called amplification.

  • In this process, we generally increase the volume of the sound.

EXPLANATION:

  • According to the definition of amplification, we increase the amplitude of the sound wave.
  • When we increase the amplitude than the volume of the sound increases.
  • So we can say that the process of increasing the sound volume is called amplification.
  • As in the case of rectification, the AC current is converted into DC.
