Option 1 : Experimenting

An experiment is simply the test of a hypothesis. The experiment is the foundation of the scientific method, which is a systematic means of exploring the world around you. Although some experiments take place in laboratories, you could experiment anywhere, at any time.

Experiments involve collecting recordings analyzing and concluding the data with appropriate results.

  • Here as per the activity given by the teacher the students first start checking and observing the temperature of their pears and recording them.
  • When they complete recording the temperature and observing they find some values like the highest and lowest temperatures in the whole data they have collected by experimenting.
  • Here the children need to follow certain instructions to complete the experiment correctly like how to hold the thermometer and when to record the temperature etc.

Hence Experimenting can be assessed using this activity.

  • Inferring the act or process of concluding something from known facts or a conclusion or opinion reached based on known facts.
Observing To watch carefully the way something happens or the way someone does something, especially to learn more about it through the senses.
Controlling variables Controlling variables is an important part of experimental design. Controlled variables refer to variables or contributing factors that are fixed or eliminated to identify the relationship between an independent variable and a dependent variable.
