Option 1 : Defining the concept of density
When children play and push things like tables, they realize that some effort is required. For certain things, more effort is required to move them from one place to the other compared to certain other things.
- Asking questions is critical for ensuring that students comprehend the material and keeping them involved in the activities. It is essential to the way students receive and process information and it encourages independent and critical thinking.
Here, the teacher asks the question, Which is heavier - 1 kg of cotton or 1 kg of iron"? and observes that a large number of students think that 1 kg of iron is heavier than 1 kg of cotton. The following strategies would be useful in addressing this idea:-
- Demonstration of the equivalence of the two by scales.
- Providing an opportunity to handle \& weigh cotton balls and iron blocks of different sizes.
- Explanation of the difference between heaviness and density.
These all strategies help them to understand the concept of iron and cotton which helps them in finding the answer to the question.
Thus, it is concluded that Defining the concept of density would be the least useful in addressing this idea.
Hint Defining the concept makes them rote memorize, they would not be able to understand it.
