Option 3 : It is self-starting and running windings are required
1) Three-phase induction motor is self-starting whereas the single-phase induction motor is not self-starting
2) It doesn’t require any external device to start
3) It has two main parts namely rotor and stator. The stator is a stationary part and rotor is a rotating part
4) A stator winding is placed in the stator of induction motor and the three-phase supply is given to it. The rotor is connected to the mechanical load through the shaft
5) It has a robust construction
6) Commutators and brush assembly is absent in three-phase induction motor hence armature reaction and brush sparking is less
7) Autotransformer starter and star-delta starters can be used.
